Product Description
Hippopotomus amphibius
Pleistocene, Ipswichian
Shropham, Norfolk, U.K
This is a an incredibly rare jaw from a Hippo that lived during the Ipswichan which is between 130,000- 115,000 years ago when the U,K was much hotter and a land bridge existed between what is now England and Europe. Specimens from this location almost always have silver writing on them and must have come from a dig that occurred during the early 1980's. Hippo remains from the U.K are seldom offered for sale and this specimen was part of my personal collection and consists of a partial jaw with an unerrupted premolar still in the jaw.
The specimen measures 13.5 cm's in length
